Fun in the sun
Here are 5 things you should know before you float the Enderby River!
1) Check your floaties. Take the time to blow up whatever you are floating on at home to ensure there are no holes or slow leaks. No one wants to be caught on the river without something to float on!
2) Know approximately how long your float will be. Times will vary depending on river levels.
3) Have a plan with another person for leaving one vehicle at the end of the float and one at the beginning of the float.
4) Pack sunscreen or make sure you apply before you get on the river. Bring a water bottle if it is a very hot day. if bringing your phone, make sure it is sealed in a water proof carrier or just leave it in the vehicle. Who cares what time it is, you are on the river to relax!
5) Stay aware on the water. The river can be a busy place in the peak of summer and sometimes you come across river boats and jet skis. The boaters are typically very responsible and respectful but it doesn't hurt to do a headcount before and after a boat passes and to stay close together.
