Holy Smokes, are you ready for this?

Buying your first home is a wild ride of emotions. It's mostly exciting, with sprinkles of stress. At times it can be a bit scary, but at other times it can be a blast! What we're getting at here, is that there's a lot going on once you start on the journey of owning your first home. While we can't promise that working with us will make it stress-free, we can say that working with someone who does this for a living should absolutely make it a lot less stressful!

Why is it less stressful working with a broker?

Well, it's what we do. Mortgage brokers make a living by shouldering the stress of the financing part of home ownership. But that isn't enough. We've been around for over 40 year helping thousands of people. Our approach is making sure that every client of ours is getting the information they need to make the best decision possible. That's especially important for our first-time buyers.

What Else?

So besides less stress and helping you make informed decisions, why else should you use a mortgage broker for your first home purchase? Well, we can't speak to all brokers, but we can tell you what we do for Tekamar clients:

  • Find you the best terms and rate available - often 0.1-0.4% lower than the big five banks.
  • Help you compare lenders based on terms, interest rates and overall credibility.
  • Make sure you're given the tools and knowledge you need to make an informed choice.
  • Help (especially first-time) homebuyer understand the mortgage process and what documents are needed.
  • Work with you to try and have you mortgage-free as soon as possible.

The best part? If you're a first-time buyer (along with >96% of our clients), the cost to you for our services is free - we charge the banks the referral fee instead. (Want to learn more about howe we get paid? Check out our FAQ page) We could go on, but we'd rather let our past clients share their experiences instead.

When do you start?

Well, anytime really! We're happy to have a meeting very early on (even before you're quite ready to buy) your purchase timeline to give you the info and numbers (Income, down payment and credit) on what you need to be aiming for to buy that first home. In fact, we recommend it. Before you even speak with a realtor, give us a call or book in a meeting and we'll get you started on the exciting journey to home ownership.
