Explore Salmon Arm

Salmon Arm is a city of under 20K people, found in the southern interior of British Columbia. A little slice of heaven sitting on Shuswap Lake that is home to the longest wooden wharf in North America. The summer months are when the town sees an influx of visitors coming from all over the world. Having the Trans Canada Hwy go almost straight through the town, makes it an easy pit stop for travellers. In the summer people come to houseboat or camp in one of the dozens of iconic campgrounds lining the lake. The region is well known for growing fruit like strawberries, cherries, plums, apples & many more fruits. Stop in at one of the local fruit stands to stock up on all the freshest produce. There is so much to do in Salmon Arm, you won't be able to fit all in in one trip, so we look forward to your return!

Walk along the wharf

If you're travelling through Salmon Arm this is a great way to stretch your legs. As the longest woodened wharf in North America, it is a sight to see. Enjoy looking over Shuswap Lake while you watch the residents' birds and ducks wait for an ice cream cone to drop.

Canoe Beach

Cool off in the water at Canoe Beach, Salmon Arm's most popular public beach. Complete with a sandy beach (or grass section), playground, a beach café and the option for paddleboard + kayak rentals, makes this a fun day in the sun!

Margaret Falls

A short 20-minute drive from town will put you at the trail head of a breathtaking waterfall that only requires a short walk to get to.

RJ Haney Heritage

Step back in time at RJ Haney Heritage Village & Museum. Learn how the early pioneers of the Shuswap lived with over 30 exhibits, including the 1910 Haney House.

Houseboat on the Shuswap

With multiple rental companies available (see earlier article) houseboating in the Shuswap is a bucket- list adventure. Explore beaches and coves only accessible by boat, enjoy dinner and drinks at the floating restaurant in the narrows. Splash and laugh your way through the summer on the Shuswap!

Marionette Winery

Just minutes from downtown at Marionette Winery you'll feel transported to wine country. The North Broadview area of Salmon Arm has complex soils mixed with the warm weather makes it the perfect spot to grow grapes. Take in one of their Sangria Saturdays, complete with a food truck and live music.

Camp at Shuswap Provincial Park

Book ahead, book ahead, book ahead! This popular campground in the North Shuswap books up fast! It's a fun campground for families, with a large park, bike jumps, beach, and an ice cream store right across the street. Camping here is truly summer in the Shuswap.

Salmon Arm Water Slides

This is a vacation hot spot for families every summer. Slide, twist, twirl and plunge your way into a refreshing pool at the bottom. The younger kids will love the 3 smaller slides as well as a shallow wading pool and hot tub. Visitors are welcomed to bring in their own homemade picnics or eat from the concession, where you will find lots of cold treats!

Barley Station Brewpub

Owned and operated by a Salmon Arm family, the "brew pub" is a local favourite. Stop in for one of their handcrafted beers and enjoy their well put together meals featuring local ingredients. We bet you'll be leaving with a growler to take home. Must be 19 years or older.

Roots and Blues Festival

August 21-30th camp at the fairgrounds or buy day tickets for this iconic music festival. This well-known festival has been running for 30 years! Lots of activities for kids during the day and a beer garden in the evenings for those that wish to take part.
