Views for days

We are so lucky to live in an area where we can take in the scenery from a birds eye view. Mountain tops, look-outs, platforms and more, the Shuswap is full of hidden gems where you can take a deep breath and appreciate your surroundings. Here is our list for top look-out spots in the area.

Bastion Mountain
For this view point, you can hike or drive. Enjoy views of Canoe, Salmon Arm and Tappen high above the astonishing Shuswap Lake.

Fly Hills / Sky View Lookout
Headed out into Salmon Valley Rd, it is recommended to have 4x4 on this forestry road. Adventurers will eventually reach 1160 metres of elevation by the time you get to the lookout! Enjoy the views of Shuswap Lake, Salmon River Valley and Mount Ida.

Sicamous Lookout
An old hand glider's platform provides an amazing view of Sicamous, Mara and Shuswap Lake. Hike or drive up the forestry road, if driving your vehicle should be in good condition with 4x4. This lookout doesn't take id driving, so what's next on the list?

Mt Ida Lookout
A fun off-road/ ATV trail which is mostly accessible with 2-wheel drive, although there are some very rough spots where the road has washed out. It is recommended you start this loop from the Deep Creek side. At the top enjoy the views of Shuswap Lake, Fly Hills and Bastion Mountain. If you're feeling adventures, check out the old mine caves.

Bolder Mountain Lookout, Revelstoke
This is a hike but a relatively quick hike (45mins). Once you get to the rock bluff, enjoy the views of the Columbia River and the historic town of Revelstoke.
