Let the kids run free
Around Salmon Arm and the Shuswap we have many great public playgrounds that allow for a wide range of different ages and abilities of children to have fun and spend time outside. A big thanks to different local clubs and organizations for fundraising and supporting these essential staples in our community.
Blackburn Park Blackburn is located across the street from the Salmon Arm Fair Grounds. A large, easy access playground has many fun slides, hiding places, rope climbs, gymnastics bars, twirling seats, zip lines, swings plus adaptive swings and so much more. Also located at Black Burn Park are soccer fields, splash park, public bathrooms, and a large roofed structure for gatherings and birthday parties.
Fletchers Park Fletchers Park is located beside the city office building. This wood chipped playground has a very fun thrilling slide, rock climbing walls, Mary-go-around apparatus, swings, sandpit compete with a sit on digger. There is also picnic tables, public washrooms, water park and grassy areas to relax and watch the kids play.
Canoe Beach Park What more could you ask for than a sandy beach and a park?! Talk about a kid’s ideal summer day. Canoe Beach Park recently received an update with a brand-new play structure and swings. Did we mention this park is also beside a beach café? Fun in the sun all day going back and forth from swimming in the Shuswap Lake and playing grounders at the playground. Don’t forget the hats and sunscreen!
Jackson Park Jackson park is located in the middle of North Canoe subdivision. Only a 5-minute walk to the dock and 10 minute walk to the public beach. Jackson Park is more geared towards little ones with a softer rubber matting, low stepping blocks and Toddler swings. The bigger kids love the tire swing. Jackosn Park also has a basketball, road hockey court with a halfpipe for skateboarding. A fun place for the local kids to hangout at.
Little Mountain Park Known for the many soccer, football fields and hiking trails right in town, Little Mountain Park also has a fun playground and public washrooms. The large newly built club house is available to rent for parties and functions.
Klahani Park This park is located about 10 minutes from down town. It has two baseball diamonds with stands, batting cages, a pickleball court, tennis court, playground, covered shelter and public washrooms and a park! Klahani also has a fenced dog park. This park has a very fun and adaptive Mary-go-around. Close to the South Canoe biking trails it also functions has a fun spot for a picnic after a family mountain bike ride.
