Relax and Unwind

British Columbia has an abundance of natural hot springs throughout it's wild and rugged landscape. Many adventure seekers will love the more rustic, off the beaten path springs this province provides. Some areas of the province have monopolized on these warm, relaxing hot pools we all love so much. If you're travelling through the interior, there are many opportunities to dip your toes into a natural spring.

We have divided our list into two categories. Rustic hot springs or commercialized hot springs. Both are great and provide different benefits, just depends on what you're looking to get out of it.

Rustic Hot Springs

Halfway Hot Springs – These rustic hot springs are located almost halfway between Nakusp and Halycon Hot Springs. Once off the main road you follow a well-maintained gravel road for 11kms. Once at the parking lot follow a steep and windy staircase down to the springs, situated along the river. You will find 3 larger pools varying in temperatures. Following the river beyond the three pools are a couple smaller shallow pools. Careful! These ones are hot. To make this experience even better, stay at the Halfway Hot Springs rec site.

Fairmount Natural Hot Springs- To get to these hot springs head towards Fairmount Hot Springs Resort. Skip past the commercialized hot pools by walking past the RV booth for checking in. Walking for a few hundred meters on your right you will see a gravel road leading towards the creek. Once at the creek, walk along side that for about 5 minutes. It's that easy to find! Enjoy the rugged beauty of the natural hot springs and warm waterfall! It's important to remember that Fairmount Hot Springs Resort is not liable for anyone or anything who chooses to use these pools.

Lussier Hot Springs- Nestled inside, on the banks of the river of Whiteswan Lake Provincial Park, lies Lussier Hot Springs. After travelling along a gravel logging road for 17 kilometers and a five-minute walk from the parking lot, this an easy and fun adventure. Once arrived you will be greeted with 3 pools built up by rocks from the riverside. The hottest pool is at the top, and they gradually get cooler the closer to the river you go. Be sure to stock up on gas and snacks from the Canal Flats general store as this is the closest town to the springs.

Commercialized Hot Springs

Halcyon Hot Springs- Surrounded by the giant Monashee Mountains and developed into a village and spa, enjoy a day date or a multi night stay at Halycon Hot Springs. This resort caters to families or adult only vacationers. Spend a romantic night in one of their private cottages or bring the whole family for a memorable stay in one of the larger Chalets. After spending a day soaking in the mineral rich pools, indulge in fine dining at the Alcedo Kitchen and Bar.

Harrison Hot Springs- The legends of sasquatches and yetis are well-known at Harrison Hot Springs, but so are their rejuvenating mineral pools and relaxing accommodations. Relax in two indoor pools and three outdoor pools. All controlled at different temperatures to help aid the body in different ways of healing. Outside you get the west coast feel with waterfalls and plenty of green vegetation. The indoor pools are more for quiet sitting and mindfulness. This is a full resort with lots of room options, spa treatments, and four different restaurants or cafes.

Nakusp Hot Springs- In our opinion this is a balance between camping and resort stay. Bring your RV and set up camp at the on-site campground or book a quaint chalet. Naskusp Hot Springs is the ideal stay for outdoor lovers. From here you have access to ski resorts, back country skiing, hiking, biking and so much more! End your tiresome (but awesome) day with a soak in a natural pool. Sounds too good to be true. Getting to the hot springs delivers beautiful scenery and excitement from any direction. The resort is located two hrs from Revelstoke and includes a fun ferry ride on the Shelter Bay Ferry. Also, two hours from Nelson, take in the tree lines drive through the mountains.
