to the river we go, to clear our minds and warm our souls

Grab a few friends, load up the family, gather the floating devices and you’re off! Well, almost off. Before leaving to float the Enderby River, you need to decide how long you wish to be on the river for, where to park both vehicles (yes you essentially need two) and figure out where you are headed.
Enderby is in the interior of British Columbia, just 24 KM from Salmon Arm, 38 KM from Vernon and 89KM to Kelowna. The large meandering river is the perfect destination for a fun summer adventure.

Enderby and District Chamber of Commerce has all the float lengths and times posted on their website to help floaters plan their best day possible. It is recommended if you are new to floating any rivers that you choose the slowest safest route for your first time. This is the Belvidere Park to Tuey Park. Depending on the time of year this relaxing float takes around 30 mins – 2 hrs.

Other options for longer floats include:
1. Trinity Bridge to Belvidere Park, this float takes an average of 3-5 hours depending on the time of year and how fast the river is flowing.
2. Eby Hand Launch to Belvidere Park. This float takes roughly 3.5 hrs – 6 hours to complete, depending on the time of year and how fast the river is flowing.
3. Cooke Recreational Site to Dales hand Launch – This float is not recommend in the spring or early summer when the river is moving fast. Mid summer to late summer this float takes around 2-4 hours.
4. Brants Hand Launch to Cooke Recreational Site. This float is not recommended in the spring or early summer when the river is moving quite fast. In mid – late summer, the float takes approximately 2-4 hours to complete.

When choosing your float please keep in mind your swimming abilities, water, snacks and the summer heat. Some of these longer floats do not have options to get off the river for quite a while and you could end up far from your car. You will need one vehicle parked at the end of your float waiting for you and one vehicle at the start.

Happy Floating!
