Full throttle and big mountain adventures.

With annual snowfalls sometimes over 60 feet (in the mountains), Revelstoke is home to some of the best sledding terrain in the world. During sledding season in town, you will see trucks and trailers lined up as far as possible with eager sledders just waiting to put down the first tracks. For your convenience we have made a list of the best areas in town.

Boulder Mountain
A popular mountain biking area in the summer transforms into a sledder’s paradise once the snow falls. Overlooking the town of Revelstoke, families and extremists enjoy playing in the area. Spend the day riding their 50Km of groomed trails or venture off straight to the Boulder Mountain Cabin. Make sure to sign in and out of the logbook when visiting the cabin. Before your day of fun starts check in with the friendly staff and pay your trail fees. At night time you can see the lights of snowmobilers from town. The altitude ranges between 4000 – 7500ft.

Frisby Ridge
The iconic Frisby Ridge is a sight to see. The common alpine landmarks are the Summit lookout, Little Cabin, Skinny Ridge, Green Tower and back to The Burn. This area is maintained by the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club and has a daily riding fee of twenty-five dollars. Historically this area and the cabin belonged to the Revelstoke Nordic Ski club. When the Nordic Ski Club decided not to renew their permits, the Revelstoke Snowmobile Club applied to take over the rights to the area and the cabin. To finish off the day indulge in great sushi at Frisby Ridge Sushi Restaurant, not surprisingly named after this iconic area.

Turtle
Extreme riders gather here! This high avalanche risk area often leaves the terrain to more advanced and qualified sledders. This is also a tenured Heli-ski area and requires riders to cross some of the ski runs. It is important to respect the multi-use sport of this area. When everyone works together, greatness happens for everyone! After about an 11 km ride on the ungroomed forestry road, riders meet the obstacle of a technical free ride to the alpine and crossing the gulch. It’s very important to check alvalanche.ca for updates before heading out and make sure you are equipped with the necessary gear.

Griffin
Some of the best riding can happen in the cut blocks on Griffin. This extreme backcountry riding area is only best suited for the very experienced and qualified riders. This area is actively logged, please follow all signs and regulations.

Hall Mountain
Wind your way through the trees of old forestry service roads all the way to the alpine. Hall mountain is considered an extreme area but there is something for everything. When the clouds are low and town is socked in, this is a great option. This is considered a backcountry area and it not groomed or monitored. For a family friendly experience, stay on the logging road going towards Coursier Lake.

This List does not include areas that experience Caribou Closures or all the backcountry terrain. The mountain scape in Revelstoke provides almost endless opportunities for experienced riders to ride untouched powder.
